I love the night sky. The mystery held in it’s darkness. Cosmic surprises. How the moon waxes and wanes. Constellations and stars and galaxies existing in far away places. The unknowns. The potential.
In light of the Geminids Meteor Shower that peaked last week, here’s a sweet little poem that’s sure to add some spark to your day. For my science nerds (and aspiring nerds), you’ll want to read my article showcasing this galactic enigma. As far as meteor showers go, this one’s the celestial masterpiece all the rest are shooting for ;)
Who are you?
My dark night companion Where do you come from? Is your light as bright as it looks to me? Because when I look up at the sky And consider its expanse And I wonder where I belong I am reminded of how small I am Can I fly with you? Will you carry me through your starry home And show me your secret spaces? Because gravity tethers my feet to earth And even the grandest of planes cannot go where you go And when I beg the constellations to pick me up They tell me I am not bright enough What do they call you? Do you have a middle name? Can I call you friend? Because I call you Star And I know you're more than your epic radiance And you know I'll never know you But you are who I want to be Who are you?
